First Church places an emphasis on Christian Education and spiritual formation for all ages – children, youth, and adults.

• Sunday School classes for all ages are available during the time between worship services: 9:45 – 10:45 AM.

• Confirmation Classes (grades 7-12) are offered annually; watch this page for dates and times.

• Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children is offered once annually; this year's VBS (held in August) was PANDAMANIA - Where God is WILD About You! Check back in late spring for the dates of 2012's VBS.

• Daytime and evening Bible and book studies for adults cover a wide range of topics and formats.

• Child of God Preschool, an outreach ministry of First Church, is a Christian preschool serving children ages 2 1/2 through 5 years.

• Men's and Women's Retreats are offered annually; watch this page or the Men's and Women's Ministries pages for dates and times.

The Annual Men’s and Women's Retreats are typically held during the winter months. Announcements of the dates and details are forthcoming.

The 2012 Annual Men’s Retreat will be Friday through Saturday, January 6^th - 7^th. The theme for the retreat is “Prepare for Battle ...” The retreat leader will be Coach Mark Collier, head football coach of Heath High School, who has been preparing young men for battle on the football field and in life for over 25 years.

Jeff Rings is facilitating the class which follows the International Sunday school curriculum. This group of people over age 50 enjoy in-depth discussion of the Bible. This class meets in the lower level, in the far end of the Social Room.

Discussion related to family, friends, and children - growing in the world today; facilitated by Jason & Christy Samples. This class meets in the Parlor on the main floor, just inside the double glass doors off of the parking lot.

Bible Study related to life and decision making; facilitated by Tom Carpenter & Todd Brooks. This class meets in the lower level, in the Social Room next to the kitchen.

Bible Study related to life and decision making; facilitated by Jeff Walker. This class meets in the lower level, across the hall from the Choir Room.

The men currently meet at 8:30 a.m. on the 1^st and 3^rd Saturdays of the month, and are studying the book of James, facilitated by Jeff Walker. This breakfast and study is in the lower level Social Room next to the kitchen.

Beginning on September 13th and meeting from 10:00 - 11:30 AM on Tuesday mornings (except the third Tuesday of the month). Cathy Johnston is facilitating a Disciple Bible study course on the Book of John that meets in the main floor Parlor (Room 102).

Beginning on September 21st and meeting from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday evenings, this women’s Bible study provides an opportunity for women in the church to enjoy fellowship while growing deeper in their relationship with God. Anita Snow is facilitating a Beth Moore study entitled Daniel: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophecy that meets in the main floor Parlor (Room 102).
