The United Methodist Church's General Conference: April 24 - May 4
Once every 4 years, representatives of The United Methodist Church from around the world gather for its General Conference. The United Methodist General Conference is being held in Tampa, Florida, from April 24th - May 4th. Church members are encouraged to go to the General Conference website for news, background on the legislation under consideration, and access to live streaming of the proceedings.

"Wings of the Morning" Ministry - Caravan Campaign
“Wings of the Morning” is an aviation ministry in an area of Africa where 6 million people live with no good roads for transportation. The airplane and pilot evacuate critically ill and injured villagers to healthcare facilities, and fly-in medical supplies, bibles, payrolls, pastors and mission teams. A campaign to purchase a refurbished Cessna Caravan plane is underway, and has been chosen as the Miracle Offering for this year’s annual meeting of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.

West Ohio Conference's Consultation Process Report for First Church!
The United Methodist Church’s West Ohio Conference established a Congregational Ministries Team for Church Revitalization, which developed a consultation process for the continued renewal and revitalization of the churches of West Ohio Conference for God’s purposes. First Church is one of only 12 conference churches selected by Bishop Bruce Ough in early 2010 to participate in the initial pilot trial of the consultation process.
On Sunday, March 18, the Consultation Team presented its report, including its “Prescriptions” for First Church: five items the Consultation Team believes First Church needs to address to improve effectiveness for the future.
At a special Church Conference on April 15, over 90% of the membership in attendance voted to accept the Consultation Report's prescriptions. Pastor Mike Denman has called First Church to a time of prayer as we take steps toward the implementation of the Prescriptions.
Join Bishop Ough in 'Walking to the 4 Corners of the World'
The West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church has four mission partnerships in Mexico, southeast Asia, Russia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. To encourage awareness of global health issues, especially in our partnerships, West Ohio Conference Bishop, Bruce Ough, invites you to participate in a common challenge, and join him in 'Walking to the 4 Corners of the World.'
Our goal for this challenge is to get as many people in the West Ohio Conference to contribute to walking the total distance around the world, passing through the four partnerships, and ending at Lakeside, in time for the 2012 Annual Conference to begin -- roughly 27,000 miles.
