Family facts: I am the widow of James H. Barber. I have a son, Loren, and daughters Amy and Marie. I have three grandchildren.
Education: B.A. in Piano performance, with a minor in organ; B.S. and M.A.+ in Education: Certification - Reading Specialist, Supervisory.
How I became a Christian: By my Methodist upbringing, primarily, but also by learning through using God's musical gift in many churches of other faiths and denominations in service to His flock.
How I ended up at First Church: Ralph Riley made me write his letter of retirement and forced me to audition.
The most important thing I do around here is: I spend a lot of time selfishly practicing, but I do not do enough for others. I am aware of my shortcomings.
My vision for the future of First Church is: continued outreach to the community, with special emphasis on the spiritual growth of the youth, the unchurched, and the hungry.
One way folks can pray for me is: to pray for those with greater needs than mine. I have been blessed many times by HIS love and caring.
