Family facts: I am married to Bob. We have two married children: Julie (married to John Scott), and Steve (married to Lisa). We also have one grandson, Jarod Scott.
Education: Graduated from Newark High School.
How I became a Christian: My aunt & uncle started taking me to church before I started school.By the time I was in junior high, I realized how much Christ meant to me, and I accepted Him as my Savior.
How I ended up at First Church: In 1972, we moved to Marysville, Ohio. There we attended the First Church of Marysville, so ,naturally, when we moved back to Newark in 1989, one of the first churches we visited was the First Church of Newark. We felt very much at home here and joined in 1991.
The most important thing I do around here: Besides answering the incoming calls, I pass out the food from the Food Pantry, and work with local agencies in assisting others in meeting their bills, or, if homeless, finding a place to stay for a night.
My vision for First Church: Being able to help even more in our community.
One way folks can pray for me: Besides praying that I will learn better computer skills, they can remember me in their daily prayers for good health and understanding.
